The Webster Community Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been providing services and programs for Webster (14580) residents since 1948.
The “Hometown” Community Chest was created to serve the people of Webster in ways not provided for by other social service agencies. In 1945, community representatives met to discuss the continuation of a group formed in WWII known as The War Chest Committee. That Committee had served the community well and it was the intention to consider establishing a local Community Chest to continue its service-based work. By 1948, the evolution was complete for the forming of a Community Chest.
Webster is the only nearby town to have its own Community Chest.
The Webster Community Chest (WCC) improves lives and helps build better futures in the greater Webster community by providing services and resources for neighbors experiencing emergencies or food insecurity. The WCC also supports other new initiatives and non-profit organizations whose mission is to improve our community.
The Chest provides information and referrals, emergency financial assistance, food assistance, summer camp scholarships, high school senior awards for community service, and financial aid to organizations whose programs benefit Webster residents. Visit our Who We Assist page for more information.
