The Webster Community Chest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been providing services and programs for Webster (14580) residents since 1948. To volunteer or get more information about the Chest go to our CONTACT US page.
The “Hometown” Community Chest was created to serve the people of Webster in ways not provided for by other social service agencies. On March 30, 1945 community representatives met to discuss the continuation of a group formed in WWII known as The War Chest Committee. The War Chest Committee had served the community well and it was the intention to consider establishing a local Community Chest to continue its service based work. By 1948, the evolution was complete for the forming of a Community Chest. On April 22, 1948 the Community Chest was incorporated and continues its work to this day. The present Board of Directors meets seven times a year and helps to coordinate the workings of the Chest. Webster is the only nearby town to have its own Community Chest.
The Webster Community Chest (WCC) improves lives and helps build better futures in the greater Webster community by providing services and resources for neighbors experiencing emergencies
or food insecurity. The WCC also supports other new initiatives and non-profit organizations whose mission is to improve our community.
The Chest provides information and referrals, emergency financial assistance, food assistance, summer camp scholarships, high school senior awards for community service, and financial aid to organizations whose programs benefit Webster residents. Visit our WHO WE ASSIST page.
